Iron ZUU Workout Review

Iron ZUU is a new group workout class franchise that is being adopted by several gym chains including Virgin Active in the UK.

You can burn around 500 calories in a session of Iron ZUU which includes weightlifting, and movement exercises in a group setting.

It can help to build muscle, improve mobility, and work your heart and lungs.

Iron ZUU is great for people who want to get into weightlifting, but perhaps lack the motivation to do it by themselves, or the know-how. With expert training from a class trainer, you will know exactly how to do weightlifting exercises at a relatively low weight.

The class includes lots of whole body compound exercises, and primal moves such as the beast crawl between sets. This helps to keep the blood flowing and reduce the chances of any injury.

It is great for people who want to get stronger, leaner, or just more healthy. Compared to other studio based classes the weights may be heavier, and the primal movement drills will help you to improve your flexibility – often in your first session.

Most people will find Iron ZUU a serious challenge, but the class is only 30 minutes long so it isn’t too much to handle. The heavier weights you select the harder it will be, so I recommend that you start with light weights on your first session and see how you go. Don’t be tempted to over do it!

If you want to try something similar yourself start with a mobility warm-up, then choose three or four compound lifts to focus on for the session, such as squats, dead-lifts, bent-over row, and shoulder press. Perform three sets of 10-12 reps, and between sets perform a beast crawl for about 20 to 30 seconds, then on to the next exercise. That’s what they call “active recovery”!
